LBC's Translation Service
Quality Assurance
Our translators
The quality of the final version of your documentation is as important to us as it is to you. Our in-house capacity is complemented by a network of over 250 professional, qualified translators and interpreters, each with their own specialism, translating exclusively into their mother tongue, ensuring that we can cover all the subject areas listed, from accountancy to water treatment plants. Consequently we have the resources to assign the most appropriate specialists to your text, closely monitoring each project from start to finish, so that clients know they can expect the same high quality results time after time. Our clients' comments speak for themselves (go to Clients' Comments).
Project Management
Before starting an assignment, we ask you to provide one contact who is either completely familiar with the source text or with the subject matter so that once we have worked through the entire document, we can, if necessary, liaise on text clarification, layout, colours, the scanning in of captions, etc. You will surely appreciate that if the source text is vague and open to interpretation, it will not become clearer in translation unless it was clarified beforehand.
Production
Our project manager will discuss your requirements and has often been able to suggest money-saving alternatives especially for software translations and multi-lingual company literature and manuals. Where appropriate, system compatibility with yourself and/or your printer will be carried out.
Proof reading
Translations for information are proof read by a second professional to ensure correct spelling, grammar, transfer of figures and tables and that all text is in fact there.
Translations for publication
For years we have been working in accordance with, and exceeding, the requirements of ISO 9001, and are now taking on board the requirements of the new European language translation standard EN 15038. All translations for publication are "mirror" checked by a second translator, who checks not only the accuracy of the translation, but whether it retains the nuances, subtleties and impact of the source text. Where texts are destined for different cultures, we would advise you to give your associates in the target country sight of your proposed text for their approval. Alternatively, we can do this for you.
Delivery
You choose. We can send your translations by, e-mail, fax or courier, and can provide hard copies and files on CD or DVD.
Deadlines
Your deadlines are our priority. We appreciate your urgency and can normally accommodate you. However, a word of warning here: the creativity of translators and text writers should not be put under constant pressure - you would not want to rush a superb wine now, would you? Include your translation work or interpreting assignments in your forward planning. Don't allow them to become a last minute panic. Translators are creative creatures. They will excel only when they are allowed to go back to a text a second time or when they are given the right background material to enable them to thoroughly prepare the work.
Confidentiality
Both in-house staff and associates recognise the importance of client confidentiality, and all translators are bound by a confidentiality agreement.
